HOW TO GET TO US
1. From San Vito di Cadore
From San Vito di Cadore (1000 m, it is possible to get there by public means) follow path 228 to Rifugio Scotter (1580 m), and then path 229 which goes up the scree with a series of sharp turns. Once at the crossing, keep right on path 227 which leads to Forcella Piccola (2120 m). Ignore the steeper tracks on the right and after Forcella Piccola descend to Rifugio Galassi. Travel time from Rifugio Scotter 1,45/2 hours.
WARNING: above Rif. Scotter follow main track toward Rif,. San Marco for m.150 to the signal for path 229, don’t go up by track (downhill) from the hairpin turn.
2. From Calalzo di Cadore
From Calalzo di Cadore (800 m, it’s possible to get there by public means) it’s possible to get by car to Praciadelan locality (1046 m) where a large parking can be found. From there a 6,5 km dirt road (n.255) starts. It is theoretically opened to motor vehicles, but difficult to travel without an off road or SUV. Said dirt road leads to Capanna degli Alpini (1385 m) crossing Diassa stream. From there follow path 255 which leads directly to Rifugio Galassi in about 1.45/2 hours.
